First, we are going to perform the standalone installation on each workstation that will need to access the publication via Folio Bound Views. Please refer to the standalone installation instructions found here.
Now we're going to move the infobase (.nfo) file and license file (.lcf file) to a network location accessible by all of your workstations.
- Navigate to C:\ProgramData\<municipalityname>\ on one of the workstations with Folio installed in standalone mode. You should see two files, a .nfo file and a .lcf file.
- Copy each file and paste it to the network location of your choice. For example, if you have a shared drive named G:\ that all of your workstations have access to, create a folder there named Folio and paste the files to G:\Folio.
- Users can either double click the .nfo file from this network location OR you can update their desktop shortcut and Start -> All Programs shortcut.
- For example, you can right-click the desktop shortcut and select Properties. Then modify the infobase argument ("11518.nfo", for example) to include the new network path.
Installing subsequent updates on the Network Location
To install future updates, all you need to do is fun the standalone install on a single workstation. Copy the .nfo and .lcf file from C:\ProgramData\<municipalityname>\ to your network location, overwriting the previous versions.
